I am passionate about creating authentic, exquisite images for my clients. I work solely with natural light and shoot primarily with vintage medium format cameras that produce luminous and finely detailed negatives. When it comes to their black and white images, clients have two print options: 1) Classically hand-printed darkroom photographs on silver gelatin fiber paper—the process that is used by museums and is offered by only a handful of American photographers now, or 2) Digital giclee prints on lush, thick Hahnemule photo rag papers. Color images are printed as giclee fine-art prints.

It is my custom to visit your home prior to the sitting so that we can meet each other and discuss your wishes for the shoot. The sitting itself can take place at home and/or another environment of your choosing, and I set no time limits on our work together. We will meet once again to review your photographs, and at this time you will select your favorite images and create your portfolio package. I will bring box, album, folio, card, and a wide variety of framing choices.

An upfront creative fee covers the cost of the shoot, all visits to your home, and one framed 8×10 heirloom print. There is no required investment fee beyond this. My priority is that you feel free to choose the perfect package for you.

The photograph in the middle is of my great-grandmother and her children. Because this image was created using the same printing process that will create your images, it is as beautiful today as it was 100 years ago. This is the beauty of fine art black and white photographs—they are truly archival heirlooms that will be passed down for generations in your family. Likewise, film negatives are hardy, easy to maintain for innumerable years in a closed archival box, and reproductions are easily made.

Custom modern and classic framing services are available. During our package consultation session, a variety of frame samples will be provided to help you find the right border for your photographs.

Antique frames are a wonderfully unexpected and bold choice for modern photographs. They are beautiful alone or combined with more modern frames for a funkier look. I am happy to assist in your search for vintage frames that will complement your photographs.
